Cobble Hill Townhouse, Brooklyn, New York

This gut renovation of three levels of an historic corner townhouse in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn plays up the contrast between a landmarked nineteenth century exterior and a modern core. An open riser stair ascends from bedrooms and family rooms on the lower level, through an open living space on the upper level to a rooftop landscape offering views of Lower Manhattan.   Recycled materials and exposed brick root the new in the old.
