Carroll Gardens Duplex, Brooklyn, New York

This duplex apartment occupies the top two floors of a mixed-use building on the thriving commercial corridor of Smith Street, Brooklyn.  Formerly divided into a series of small rooms, most of the interior walls were removed during the renovation, allowing sunlight to flood the interior from three exposures.  The palette of white walls and pale materials reflects the sun and is interrupted by the occasional accent of saturated color.
